‘The Very Lucky Girl’ Actress Mila Kunis Stars in Best Seller Adaptation

2022/11/02

Last week, it was announced that actress Mila Kunis will star in ‘The Very Lucky Girl‘ , adaptation of Jessica Knoll’s bestseller that is being produced by Netflix according to some media reports. The main character is Ani FaNelli, a New Yorker who seems to have it all. She has a sharp tongue, a wardrobe full of high-end pieces, and a perfect-looking marriage. However, that all changes when she is approached by the director of a crime documentary that investigates a case that happened to her in high school. Ani, then, is forced to face the skeletons well kept in her closet, in this way running the risk of being unmasked. Mike Barker, whose most important credits include directing episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale (2017-) and Fargo (2014-) will direct the endeavor based on a script written by Jessica Knoll herself.

The book

‘A Very Lucky Girl’, the book was made possible by Jessica Knoll’s experiences as a former editor of the Cosmopolitan magazine. In addition to starring in Kunis, she will also be one of the executive producers. Nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for Black Swan (2010), the actress ended up not having as many prominent roles as we might think. Although always filming, she ended up collecting work in romantic comedies and lesser films. Will ‘A Very Lucky Girl’ bring her back to the bright times?.
