In “The Staircase”, a new miniseries that is in its free Youcine apk, viewers are faced with a standard commercial family: eight people together at the dinner table, smiling and loving each other. But scenes later, a crime enters the story: A woman appears dead at the foot of a staircase; the walls and her body were bloodied.

This story is real, and it caused a lot of commotion in the US, it even became a documentary. At the center of the plot is a couple, Kathleen Peterson (Toni Collete) and Michael (Colin Firth). The miniseries shows the audience right away the main facts of the plot: the death of Kathleen and Michael is treated as a suspect murdering his own companion. The main interest is to unravel the motivation of the crime, who really killed her and how he killed her. The first episode stumbles a bit in not making it clear who is who among those people sitting at the table. That’s because Kathleen and Michael have several children, coming from other marriages and adopted as well.

Michael, a political scientist, has written books about his experience in the Vietnam War, which ran from 1955 to 1975. He had a column in the Durham, North Carolina, newspaper, and was known for his harsh criticism of policing there. His first wife was Patty, a teacher he met when he lived in Germany. The two had two children, the first was Clayton (Dane Dehaan) and the other Todd (Patrick Schwarzenegger). There in this European country, the couple met George and Elizabeth Ratliff. The two families had a great relationship.

After the deaths of Elizabeth and George, Michael became the guardian of Margaret (Sophie Turner) and Martha (Odessa Young). A year before Patty’s split, in 1987, Michael met Kathleen, who was also going through a divorce; Michael met Kathleen, who was also going through a divorce; Caitlin (Olivia DeJonge) is Kathleen’s daughter from her first marriage. The case

On the night of the murder, Michael and Kathleen were celebrating important career news. A major Hollywood studio bought a book by Michael based on true events about World War II, 1939 to 1945, with the intention of turning it into a film.

Kathleen went to bed at 2 am. Half an hour later, Michael said he found her body at the bottom of the stairs leading to the first floor of the house. As described by police officers, a pool of blood formed around Kathleen’s body.

At first, the police considered it an accident. Forensic tests changed the diagnosis against him making him a suspect. According to the series shows, he creates that action against him
it was part of a police vendetta, due to the texts he wrote in the newspaper. Michael was accused of murdering Kathleen. In 2003, the trial began in which he swore his innocence. At the end of the deliberations, the writer was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was held until 2011, when the conviction was overturned because flaws in the process, such as false prosecution testimonies, were revealed. Currently 78 years old, Michael is free. He even wrote a book about it called Behind The Staircase.

Launched in 2019, the book has a symbolic price, and all its profits are donated to charities. Michael authorized the copying and reproduction of the work, giving up copyright. As a case gained a lot of viewing by the media, from documentary to miniseries, the book serves as a defense of his own authorship. In his publication, he tells about his 8 years in prison, alongside drug dealers, bandits, rapists; in addition to exposing the other side of the judgment that condemned him.
